Advanced Composites in Construction 2011

6 - 8 September 2011, University of Warwick

The Conference

Now in its fifth biennial year, ACIC 2011 will focus on current topics within the construction industry to highlight the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure.

It will bring together practicing engineers, asset managers, researchers and representatives of regulatory bodies in order to promote an active exchange of scientific and technical information on the rapidly changing scene of advanced composites in construction.

Proposed Session Themes

Proposed sessions for the conference include but are not limited to:

  • Strengthening of concrete and masonry structures
  • Strengthening of metallic and timber structures
  • Internal reinforcement and prestressing
  • Wholly polymeric structures
  • FRP Materials and systems
  • Long term performance and durability
  • Damage mechanics and failure criteria
  • Analysis and design
  • Inspection and monitoring

    Abstracts

    Abstracts should be limited to 250 words and should include contact details of the corresponding author and affiliation of co-authors.

    Abstracts may be emailed to the conference organiser, Claire Whysall at: info@acic-conference.com, before Monday 1st November 2010.

    Notification of acceptance - 10th January 2011
    Deadline for full papers - 1st April 2011
    Revised Paper Deadline - 6th June 2011

    ACIC 2011 will be held in the historical town of Warwick at the first class conference facilities of Warwick University.
